USC UCEDD Consumer Advisory Committee
Esther Kelsey, Consumer, Westside Regional Center, Community Advisory Committee
Ms. Esther Kelsey was diagnosed with a developmental disability in middle school, but did not allow that to slow her down. After completing high school, Ms. Kelsey worked at Southwest Industries where her experiences working with children led her to obtain a degree in Early Childhood Development from El Camino College. As a Westside Regional Center consumer, Ms. Kelsey has participated in many of their programs and gained a wealth of knowledge. She shares this knowledge by educating parents of children with developmental disabilities and consumers. Ms. Kelsey also advocates for consumers, wants to establish a family friendly service system and develop a public policy initiative that will provide full inclusion of people with developmental disabilities in everyday life.
