Project G.U.I.D.E.

The USC University Affiliated Program was awarded a grant from the Department of Justice in October, 2003, to develop a flexible, portable, inter-active, internet-based training program, which will increase the knowledge and skills of law enforcement, the courts, Adult Protective Services, and Crisis Centers to work more effectively with victims with disabilities who are negotiating the criminal justice system. The curriculum will encompass a functional description of desabling conditions, strategies for interacting with specific populations, strategies for assisting victims with disabilities to navigate the criminal justice system, and a description of the disability service system in California. The curriculum will be marketed through regional conferences in Northern, Central, and Southern California.
