Branches to Recovery
Author: Luis Montes

An interactive, multimedia CD-ROM that teaches families the basics of acquired and traumatic brain injury and the rehabilitation process.  This 24-hour learning tool gives them the answers they need – clearly, easily and at their own pace – to begin to understand this important, new stage in their children’s lives.

Through the use of narration, music, video, animation and colorful graphics, “Branches to Recovery” introduces family members, educators and health professionals to the rehabilitation process.  It also helps professionals understand the challenges faced by these children and their families.  Covers:

  • The members of the Rehabilitation Team
  • Stages of Rehabilitation
  • The assessment process
  • Treatment and therapy
  • Basic neuro-anatomy
  • Factors that influence a child’s recovery
  • Preparing for a child’s return to school
  • Preparing for discharge from the hospital
