As the director for the Center for Disability Studies, Dr. Wheeler provides strategic direction and leadership for the UCEDD’s responsibilities to promote the full participation of people with disabilities in community life throughout the lifespan. Her work focuses on the building of strategic alliances locally and statewide, with the research communities of universities, the advocacy community, the disability service system (which cuts across several state departments), parent and consumer networks.
